    Big Grin Peacock feathers Costumes

Has anyone seen a belly dance costume with peacock feathers? I have searched in google but with no luck....

I am preparing a surprise for a friend- gonna give her the whole bunch of feathers for a costume, but thought I could back it up with some costume ideas..... She dances in restaurants and very often the owners insist on "original" costume or image of a dancer.... and she mentioned before that she had ideas for that "peacock" image.....

    Thanks!

    *hugs*

The only thing that comes to my mind would be like The Indigo and other dancers of that style that I've seen use feathers to cover a bra. I'd surf around on Tribal fusion dancer's sites...

I'm sure I've seen a nice one somewhere, but some bad examples were easy...

I don't have any references of bd costumes or with feathers, but there is something you could take a look at and maybe get inspired... It is a photo I took at a national dances performance in Sri Lanka. That dance was a folclore-inspired peacock dance...

    Hi Reen,

I'll agree with Maariku. Google on "Peacock dance" and you will see all peacocky inspired costumes. May be you can copy bits and pieces and make it your own. I found 5 JPGs for you on my computer earlier and my computer got locked up and I lost the file(LOL cos I didn't save the file). If I find any I'll post it. Good luck!!!

I'm not a fan of feathers on costumes. The most objective reason is they don't wear well.

OMG so you dont know the famous Amani Peacock costume that Andreya of Cairo made for her?
Amani wore it for New Year 2006 LBC and was amazing.
She came on stage with a huge (something like isis wings) made of 500 Peacock tails, and she had a crown on her head like it.
She endered just walking gorgeous, and at a sudden beat she opened the wings, after she took them off, and she had the costume which was a short skirt with feathers at the end and strapless dress.
Amazing costume, and unfortunately there is no video online or photo, but i'll keep searching at least for photo.

    Maria Aya
