Thank you so much for making me aware of the fact that I have a long waist instead of short legs. It sort of feels like having a half-full glass instead of a half-empty one. Following the same logic, I suggest a different kind of name for your club. Why don't you call it something like LLLL (Long Live Long Legs).

Sorry for pushing this thread further off topic.

LLAMA? (Long legs are most attractive)

STALL? (Short torsos and long legs)

Personally I regard those infamous glasses of liquid as being empty on the top and full on the bottom.

My sister called me a gypsy while I was practicing once, but usually my family just says that I look Egyptian so, I don't really think of gypsy dancing as belly dancing anyway.

In class on Wednesday, we were doing a traveling step & my teacher said, 'you're supposed to do this on your toes, not on flat feet -- unless you want to look like a gypsy!'

Depends on the style. You can definitely do raqs sharqi on flat feet - but the reverse is not the case. Ghawazee (and most other folk styles) must be done on flat feet.
