Okay, I am biting the bullet and am posting my latest performance. At the beginning, the music is a little garbled but after a few seconds it straightens out. Enjoy! (I hope :shok:)

This is great Greek Bonfire! The sound is a bit crackely but it doesn't deter from the dance! Beautiful!

You have some lovely accents and the gorgeous shimmy section about 1:40 in works really well with the music. I love the way you've interpreted the flute section in the lead up to the finale.

Some feedback for further growth:

It looks like you're having trouble deciding what to do with the heavy drum beat in this version of this song. Can I recommend walking around the stage (use whatever footwork patterns work for you and work with the stage) and going up to one section of the audience & accenting a small part of the beat, then moving on to another section & doing the same? The walking around takes up time in a heavy drum beat without accents and it gives the audience something to look at in anticipation without the motion fighting visually with the music. When you stop & pick out a small section (maybe 4-8 beats, or a boompa boompa boompa boompa in that song) you make the audience feel special, so it's a win all round. It's a nice cheaty way of getting around the fact that the rhythm doesn't really relate to any particular move set because of the heavy repetition and timing.

The other piece of feedback I would like to give you is to resist the urge to throw every move you know into a performance. The urge to do that is very strong in most dancers for a very long time (anywhere from 6 months to years!) so you're normal in feeling that urge. However, nobody in your audience is going to assume you can't dance if you don't do X move, so be selective in what you use in a performance.

You're doing great, you can be better, and you will improve because you work so hard at it. Thankyou for sharing your performance with us.

Thanks for your encouragement and honest opinions. You are right - I do feel like I'm shimmying but it's obvious that I am not getting it across, so working on that more than ever. It was a really fun and funky song - I had a good time with it!

You truly are a bonfire, aren't you? It was a lovely performance, dear.

From simply an onlookers perspective (meaning take it with a grain o' salt and a splash o' lemon, hon. I'm no pro.):

Sometimes it looked like you were holding back. Why oh why oh why? You move with elegance and grace. Don't hold back your personality.

At other times it looked as though all the energy was in your hips and torso and the arms, as a result, came across as a little flailing. However, when you did that little arm sway thing in front of your hips (I don't know what you would call that. Everyone seems to have different names for the same moves LOL)... wonderful energy there. And as well when you crossed them over your chest and "petted the cat" as my daughter calls it. Wonderful, wonderful energy in the arms there too.

Please, please remember that this is all just my humble opinion and from an untrained eye. You really are a lovely dancer, and live up to your username. Good job!

Thank you, Elfie, no offense taken, your comment is very much appreciated and is taken for the positive critiquing it was given. That's why I posted the video - to get some tips on improvement because I can always use it!

Your way of moving slowly is elegant and I like it, but I think you needed to feel the song because I think you devote every minute of the song to do great movements instead of telling us something with it. Anyways, you are very elegant (over all how you move your arms) and I liked it very much your dance. These are just some advices for you to improve. There is always something to improve ;)

Good luck!!
