  • Thank you! I too love Turkish, but right now it's a bit too difficult. I took a workshop with Artemis an loved her! I think I may do exactly what you are suggesting and use Suhaila's warm up and then go on to one of the dancers I will be work-shopping with in October.

    Hi Bellydancer of Willendorf, It's really perceptive that you are noticing the differences of style. At this point I think going with the the class to build your endurance ect up, is the important thing, before you get hung up on styles afterwards you can branch out. Sort of speaking from similiar experience, I have danced for many years, but now I am working on getting back into shape (reg and dance) after an accident, so while I know the moves I will be taking beginner classes for the same reason (and yep I am overweight too). Maybe do the Suhalia stuff as your warm-up and then take one aspect of the dvr to practice. I do this as my teacher teaches mostly Egyptian style my true love is Turkish.
