Essentrics workout

I bought the Essentrics dvds recently and they are excellent.
The new dvds allow you to have music only, as well as
voice over instruction or voice and music.

I did the Flexibility for Athletes last night and
really felt great after the workout. Prior to the
Esmonde dvds (Classical Stretch and Essentrics) I used
only yoga for gentle stretching.

Thought I would give a quick update to the thread.

What sort of results are you seeing from the workouts? I went to the website and found it not very specific in how it was acheiving the results they claim other than just a general description of the origion of the exercises they use and the claim that they are melting fat from specific areas of the body - i.e. back, waist, legs and hips.

Are the DVD's intense in the workout they use? Have you seen a change to your body shape from them?

I've been using Suhaila's workout DVD set - Pilates, Yoga, Buns and Fat Burning and found the Pilates and Buns ones to be my favorites. I feel like I see a change in my body with them. I should try the yoga one more, but I wish it focused on classic yoga poses more than blending with belly dance so much.

The Buns workout is great!

Glad to hear that you are enjoying Suhaila's dvd set and that
it is giving you good results. To answer your questions-

The Essentrics is a new dvd offering both a Flexibility for Athletes
and a dvd for Arms, Abs and Waist toner/Legs Butt and Thighs.

I just started the workouts last week the Flexibility one
is very intense and in fact the background exercisers are
Olympic athletes from Canada. Sahra's mom has been a
trainer for Olympic athletes using Classical Stretch.

Having used the Classical Stretch with good results,
I would say these dvds are like a Callanetics type
workout. You need to be consistent with them.
I will be using them 3 times per week.

I also do Pilates (Pilates stick and Laura Peralta 21st Century
Pilates.) Currently doing pilates twice a week, and snow shoveling
almost daily these days.

The effect I have received from Classical stretch is a greater
ease of movement, better joint flexibility and improved balance.
Hoping to achieve some increased toning with the Essentrics series.

Not belly dancing current due to difficult ankle injury, so
trying to say fit and hope to resume soon.

For me as a dancer over 50, Classical Stretch and Essentrics are
sent from heaven!
