Turkish dance from YouTube

Some of these have been posted before in separate threads, but I thought I would put them together. (Be aware that if you watch these clips back to back, you might get a little sick of hearing the same song, LOL!) I am no expert on Turkish dance, but these clips seem like the real deal to me :D

Oryantal Star dancer, Reyhan (???)

DIDEM (performing Turkish style, not the AmCab/fusion she sometimes does)

SEMA YILDIZ (Maria Aya posted this already :) )

**Maybe not the "real deal," but soooooo cute & funny- I love it!**

Didem is such a joy to watch - like a young puppy with all the skills in place :) and her body is great for seeing the torso movement !

I don't know if she's doing Turkish style (it's hard to tell in drum solos anyway, IMO), but she *is* Turkish- and she's fantastic!

Actually she is *NOT* Turkish - she is Russian girl named Olga Roussina who has danced in Istanbul Orient House for many years with name Oya Man: she is great though :)

And thanks for those Roman Havasi clips of Didem: at this style she is superb...

I am not so sure about that comedy clip by dancer Eylül anyway as the actors of show Avrupa Yakası (European Side) for sure are doing comedy, but Eylül is like that always so I am afraid that she is dead serious
BTW this clip is from last New Year show where they always include dancers - previous year there was Tanyeli

Thank you for the information, Kiraze! Haha, I should know better by now than to assume someone is a native if they are performing in a certain country  She is a nice dancer, and I want her costume!!!!!!

You are welcome! I like her in this style, too.

Ah yes, I've seen "serious" videos of Eylul on YouTube before, and I think you're right, lol. I loved this clip mostly for the show characters trying to copy her moves- they just crack me up!!!

Nice clips Yasmilah!
Except for the comedy, I didn't like that (well the actors were funny, but not the dancer. Especially not if she's always like that :shok:. She looked like she was getting electric shocks at some moments)

As Hale posted a clip of her friend Ahmet then naturally we must see also her dancing (welcome to forum, Hale! :) ) - here are some clips from her fantastic performance in Singapore (unfortunately I did not know she was here so I missed the show myself):

Which girl are we talking about here? The girl from the google link yasminah put up is Birgul Beray, and she is Turkish. She's very good but there are hardly any video's of her anywhere. She's a regular at the Orient House in Istanbul.

The second video sadly has no sound and it's of her performing on the Beyaz show on Turkish TV.

YouTube - Turkish Bellydance

YouTube - Birgul Beray

That first clip definately is Oya and NOT Birgül - they both do dance at Orient House so maybe that can cause some confusion. You can see photos of them both (as well as one blonde dancer I do not know) at here. Oya is one with blue costume and Birgül with pink.

That Birgül clip is nice even without sound but it is from Seda Sayan show - not Beyaz show (but she dances with Beyaz - anyway who cares it is from TV anyway  )

Zümre

As at the discussion about best and worst performances so many said that Zümre is one of the worst dancers they have seen I thought that maybe we should give her some credit and show some better performance from her. I agree that her dancing on her DVD/VCD is bad but I have seen her dancing on TV and she is much better than on that DVD (I have no idea for what purpose that DVD is made  )

But here is one clip of her dancing at New Year 2001: not fantastic but definately not the worst dance ever seen either :naghty:

What about this dancer? I like it
As I have chance to watch YouTube clips only on weekends my comments are always a bit late...

I like Dilek´s dancing even though I think it is not particularly Turkish or does not represent authentic Rom dance. For that it is too polished and also choice of her costume and music reminds me more of "american gypsy dance" like one by Dalia Carella (and I love this style but it has very different feeling than Turkish)

I find it a bit funny though that on other clips by Dilek where she dances "common belly dance" she seems to have much more Turkish styling... she also reminds me of another Turkish-born dancer Fatima Serin, who also looks more western with her styling than Turkish because of Egyptian/Western dance training. Both are fantastic dancers though :)

Here is one clip of Fatima:

Does someone have a youtube clip of what is real turkish roman dance? I thought the music playing in this clip is some version of Mastika, is that right?

About the Zümre clip... wow is that really the same girl? So she can dance. Then why on earth does she make those weird cheap looking porn like videos?

I agree this clip shows her in a better light, maybe she had formal lessons or is it because she was dancing in front of a live audience?
