Hello Everyone!
It´s been a very long time since I´ve been here.
I´ve been away from the scene for a while and now that I´m back, I´m looking for new and fresh music and ideas. I would like to prepare a group Khaligi choreo. I ordered several Khaleeji CD´s from the internet and have to say, I didn´t like what I heard. I really like upbeat, fun and festive. I enjoy more of the fusion stuff. Sorry, not a purist. I welcome any suggestions and ideas.
Thanks
I do share Tenica's experience so far.
My favourite Khaleegy-style song so far for dancing is 'Mashkalni' by Rashed al Majed http://youtu.be/O8xVzF5u-Eo

As a long-time-Saudi-Fan (I worked there in the early century) I am looking for good Khaleegy-music as well. So far, however, it is difficult.
Hi!
Does anyone know what album Ad-Douha by Ezam Aref is on?
I have the track but I'd like the link to the album or an online clip for my students. Hope someone here can help

Asherlee bil Mandeela. There's a version on one of Leila Farid's CD's. It's a bit slower than some of the others I've listed, and for that reason, I like using it in my classes to teach my students.
Ya Rashid by Rashid al-Majed. It came out around 1998.
Abaad by Mohamed Abdo. From about the 1960's, but still a beloved song. Sometimes called "Leyla Leyla" because there's a section of the lyrics that sing that over and over. Here's the lyrics translation: http://www.shira.net/music/lyrics/abaad.htm
Wah Wah Adanou Adanou. Can be hard to find on CD's or download sites, but it does show up on one of the Mezdeke CD's under some weird name. Here's the translation of the lyrics: http://www.shira.net/music/lyrics/wah-wah.htm
