She has beautiful dance ability, but seems to have a tendency to get raunchy--sometimes incredibly so.

I attended one of Sadie’s workshops and saw her perform during the International Bellydance Congress in the UK, in September 2009. Her workshop was one of the toughest I ever attended, with a lot of emphasis on drills and isolations. Even if technique is not everything, I still think it is very important to be able to strengthen the right muscles, in order to make every movement look effortless. Sadie’s teaching style helps a lot with this. Sadie used to be an athlete and this sure helped her a lot achieve the physical strength she has to perform isolations so well. Her performance was technically excellent.

I d id a week long workshop In Middl east music and dance camp in california. It was for drum solos. she does drill a LOT on technic and thats how she was taught. VERY techn ical but worth it. I wish I lived in colorado so i could take on going classes with her. I can see where it could help if it id done enough but MAN is it tough. I recomend her as an instructor if you already have the basics down pat and are at LEAST intermediate level...

otherwise her performances are amazing but i dont like too much of her n ew stuff it does get a bit out there inturms of sex nature...

ANYWAY I saw her perform at campand she is and AMAZING dancer! And a very nice person.

Yes, I have only seen a performance video of her - would never touch anything else by her. The definitive porn face dancer!

I've seen a drum solo of her on YouTube too I have to admit that her move were quite impressive.

I just bought 2 DVD's she did Ultimate and Complete Belly dance. I scanned through the other day seems pretty good but like other have said...very technical. Although, that's what I was looking for.

I have just watched a young dancer who has learnt mainly from her videos and she was pretty darn good so I assume they must be useful. Oh and no porn faces.
I have to say I am not impressed by what I see on Youtube especially in duets but I have heard good things from IBDC and that she is indeed a great one for technique as a teacher.

simply because I enjoy watching her
she is beautiful.

Why do you think she is a good belly dancer to watch. I find her technically so sharp yet she lacks the emotion of many Egyptian style dancers, a connection to the music and makes me feel tired watching her;)
Mind you I haven't seen her live and that might be very different. I heard high praise of her from IBDC. Did you go?

you dont even think about the
technique, it just comes natural and then you will start to make it
your own. For everyone, this time frame is diferent.
All the best,
SAdie

her technique is a result of her passion for dance.

That's where I saw her too. Turns out she's pretty well known. I think she has great great muscle control, and dancing skill. Is it a style I personally would do? Not really. While I enjoy watching her do it, it's not for me.

Whilst I find that she displays way more personality live than in a tiny vid - I still don't care much for her style. I like a dancer to play with the music and build in suspenseful (is that a word) pauses. With Sadie one thing just follows another so that I am impressed by her technical skill, but somehow it would be more impressive if she did way less.

lorna Gow said that when she went to Cairo she found that she had too much technique and not enough musicality.

Not just.... technique is the result of many years of practise practise and dedication.
Well did you go?

Not only that, technique doesn't just come naturally for us all, even if we love the dance "passionately." I love bellydance, but klutziness comes all too naturally for me. :( I have to practice, practice, practice to become even acceptably good on a student level.

fluidhips, what is it about Sadie's performance that you enjoy besides her technique and beauty? Is it her presentation? Personality? Costuming? Her interpretation of the music? :)
