Hey, anybody doing Nia? Previously, there was no instructor in my city proper, friend of a friend of mine is recently certified and probably going to start teaching it. I'm intrigued.
I recently have taken Nia classes and love the workout.
It is really more fun in a class setting, the concept allows
students to workout at different levels . The group dynamics
adds a neat energy to the routine as opposed to working
out with the dvds.
If you go to nianow.com, there is a lot of info there.
I usually join the monthly call in where Debbie who founded
Nia discusses the Nia concepts and answers questions.
There is also a list of previous month calls you can review.
For the winter, I use the dvds which are excellent as the
class I attend is too far for winter travel.
You can also look to see if your library has the
book that Debbie and Carlos wrote. I found it very helpful
as it reviews the 52 moves used in Nia routines.
I do Nia and love it. I love Belly and Nia for different reasons: I love belly for its beauty, grace and the high level of skill required, and Nia because it allows my mind to switch off and just enjoy holistic movement
