What's wrong with Avatar option?

no matter how much I resize, reduce the pixels on my image, I cannot load a new avatar.

The radio button for custom avatar is selected right?
Are you entering a url from a published picture or are you uploading from your computer?
what message does it give you when you try to upload a new avatar?

Trying to upload from computer... it just keeps saying image should be no bigger the 120 pixels. I've taken image down to below that and it still won't load.
