I'm not sure..with the right skirt and the right figure, this is a perfectly standard bedlah that many of the GP would be happy to see on a dance in a restaurant. You still see these around and though they might seem dated to belly dancers they din't ever look terribly wrong.

It might just be because the top is so overwhelming. I'd have to see it on a real woman to get a better judgment. Something like that seems like it'd be better suited for a woman with hips.

The top can be altered so it has less fringe. I agree, general audience would like that sort of costume. They do expect lots of glitter and fringe.
