    Default Music editing software?

    Hi all,

Forgive me if there is a thread on this already (I had a quick look and couldn't see any).

Do you know of any good music editing software suitable for a complete novice?

Essentially, I just want to take a bit out of a song so that it isn't so long.

Can anyone recommend how I do this? I would really appreciate any help you can give.

    Thanks x

I've been using the consumer version of Sound Forge since 1997. You can find out more about it here: Amazon.com: Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio 10: Windows: Software

I find it very easy to use, with an intuitive user interface.

I tried Adobe Audition because it came with some other software I bought, and found I liked Sound Forge much better.

I like Ausdacity too, but have also an Adobe one, however that's too complicated.

I do very basic things and use Audacity - it is simple to understand and there are tutorials available all over the web.

Yep, Audacity is the way to go.

Also, if you're looking to make a personalized ringtone from your music, go to Myxer.com... very simple and you can do any type of song with it.
