    Default Bay Area Teachers?

    Hello again,

I know of FCBD and Suhalia's studios in the Bay Area, but are there any other belly dance teachers that would be suggested?

Which dance style are you looking for? And you said you're in the Oakland area, right?

One thing I'd strongly recommend: study percussion with Mary Ellen Donald.

    Yes! I'm in the Oakland/Mills area ( I'm a freshie at Mills).

I started with Turkish and I would love to train more, but my main focus stays with ATS.

Hmmm, well, if your focus is ATS, then you've got FatChance right there.

If you're open to sampling other styles, I recommend trying Nanna Candelaria in Berkeley - she's a lovely dancer herself, and has trained several fabulous dancers who now work the professional circuit. Her web site is at Nanna - Professional Bellydancer

For Egyptian style, there's also Amina Goodyear in San Francisco. Her web site is at GAMAL DANCE AWARDS
