    Default Bellydance Christmas?

    The yearly question...
How many of us received bellydance themed presents from our significant others/family/friends?
    What was it?

My husband bought me "Istanbul" by Jordi Savall. I am very happy with it since I have wanted it for a long time.

My brothers sort of gave me something. They know I love to dance and one of them is really into bollywood so they gave me "Dances of India: Bollywood to Bollydance" along with one of his favorite (subtitled) movies. I am touched and amused at the same time.

That album is lovely. I may have to acquire that one.

I made out like a bandit this year. I got Aunt Rocky's book and DaVid of Scandinavia's book from my dad for Hanukkah. A new ipod for class/performance from my husband for Christmas. Maqams Made Simple CD, Medieval Cuisine of the Islamic World, and Women in Middle Eastern History: Shifting Boundaries in Sex and Gender from my brother in law for Christmas. A massage gift certificate, with one of my students who is a massage therapist, from my daughter for Yule. And Images of Enchantment: Visual and Performing Arts of the Middle East from a non dance friend.

I have a lot of reading to do!

Dance is like glitter, it not only colours your life, it makes you sparkle, you find it everywhere and in everything and it's near impossible to get rid of. (unknown)

I can't afford it right now so I'm going to put it on a suggestion card for the library. We are lucky to have a really good library that takes book suggestions from the public.
