To the private message chick

And to the lady who sent me a private message , I won't say who since the message was private. Im so very glad to have help you, that teacher in California had no right to push u to the back because of your weight, karma will get her. And unless u ask she should have kept her opinions to herself. believe i been back handed allot look at today, people don't know whats happening with you at home and why u are in a certain position, don't let her stop u from dancing, Im sure there are dozens of other teachers in san jose area, just make a post here i sure there are ladies who can make a recommendation. And of course we can Skype, when I'm not at work I'm home taking care of my mom, thats my life.......im glad to have help....also think about camp, there are post of women here who have enjoyed check it out with the search.....................for finding the teacher just put it the teacher section post, if u still feel weird PM me I c an post it for u and see what teachers we can find you

I have deleted my post , its been nice posting here. And truly from the bottom of my heart thanks Kim for defending me, you know life for me at home has been hard and my life as a chubby girl in a skinny world just as hard. It took a month to write it out when i had the time and it was hard admitting some embarrassing stuff, i really appreciate it. Im working on the third blog , you will be the first one to look over it before I add it to the internet. Its about Camperet fun times. You are the sweetest person, you're one of the reasons i got peeled off the wall and came out of my shell you were one of the first people to come up to me with open arms and not made me fell weird about my weight, and thanks for console me today.

I’m so sorry that you encountered the exact type of person from your blog that you were afraid you would experience in your dance journey… keep dancing and blogging! You have a heart of gold... & gold is very tender ;D

It seems the edit function was used by the OP to delete the text from the post... as well as another member... which is not what the edit function is for. Now this whole thread doesn't make any sense. Which is, in part, why we have a no delete policy. Please do not do that again.

I wish I had logged on last night when I originally read this thread to post something but I was on my iphone and needed to reset my password.

While I know the OP and Kimora, I just want to offer a quick and surprisingly unbiased opinion.

The OP used her blog to share a story that would be difficult for most of us to share. She could have posted that story here in a direct thread but instead posted it elsewhere with a link. Out of bravery, she came here to share that story.

I understand what Yame was saying too. Lots of people only come to the boards to say "look at me, look at me". Yame doesn't know Misty. I know her well enough to say that was not her intention, and if you read her story you can understand while even though she is a regular reader she never contributes due to self-doubt brought on by other.

So Misty felt attack, again if you read her story you will see why. Her good friend came to her defense and it quickly snow-balled into finger pointed and  misunderstanding peoples tone on the internet.

I am sorry the OP got deleted because it was a good link. I am sorry the thread came to this and lost the intent for which it was intended.

While I lurk more on OD than I do on Bhuz, I still read regularly and contribute when I have something of value to add. Being an internet regular on non-dance sites, I can 100% sympathize with Yame's point. Maybe here more than anywhere we are on "24/7 Troll Watch" but every so often let's think about that most of us are real people on the other side of the computer.

I now feel guilty like I just gave a bunch of adults a kids lecture :shok: but I fell asleep lamenting that I understood both sides and maybe if I posted I could get everyone to see from the others POV. Unfortunately, I waited a bit too long. :(

I feel horrible for the OP :(

I also understand Yame's point of view and trying to make the OP understand what some (not all) think of her but I feel she should have said the last two sentences differently. After reading the OP blog I take she has issues she needs to resolved and might not be ready to start posting. Like someone feeling better at writing a letter than being confrontational. Even the cyber world is intimidating. I know this is a forum and some people are more upfront than others and this is the same reason some people are just lurkers. Some people do need something sugarcoated. I think Yame expressed herself great but did not take into account some areas.

Hope my bad english makes sense.

To the OP, I hope this doesn't discourage you from making more blogs. And post only when you are good and ready. If this site doesn't allow you to post your blogs if you can't contribute on other areas you can find other ways to help others in your situation. XOXO

Just to clarify issues, the OP or her friend deleted her post. OD does not delete posts since such deletions leave threads that make no sense. OD also does not encourage members to delete posts for the same reason. All are welcome at OD, but by the same token, no one who does not wish to be part of the community can be forced to stay.

Rather than continue a discussion that given the deletion of the original post has become unintelligible to late comers, I suggest we move on to other topics.

If we weren't interested and didn't want the OP to come and play more in our sand pit and be friends, then no one would have bothered replying at all.

I believe I have rabid bats for the Debate subforum. :p

ETA - I wasn't being facetious when I said the blog was nice in an earlier post. It is. It's also surprisingly neutral in the way it talks about some of the uglier side of bellydance as well as weight issues. If you're that interested in finding it, a forum search under the op's name will quickly turn up her other two threads, one of which contains a link to said blog.

As far as the rest of the thread topic goes, it would be nice if we could remember two things:
1) Use tact when encouraging others to stay & chat because they might see it as <demonic voice on>"Talk to me or else I unleash the hounds of hell!"<demonic voice off>
2) It is incredibly rude to go deleting half the posts in a thread because it makes it so confusing to read and insanely difficult to kiss & make up - as it were.
