    Default Portland

I'm going to be in Portland from the 16-19th of May and am wondering if there are any Bellydance events or restraunts with bellydancing that a person should take in. I'd hate to have been there and then find out later there was something good that I'd misssed... any ideas are welcomed... Jim

Marrakesh has dancing and I've heard the food is good. Marrakesh - Your Portland Moroccan Restaurant | Home

The Blue Monk has a belly dance show every Wednesday evening with live music by Arabesque (great band)

Try posting your inquiry on the Facebook page, there is always a lot going on up there. I love 100 mi. to the south, so I don't know all the details.

Just a quick thank you to Dunyah for the recommendation for the Blue Monk. We went on Wednesday night and had a great time.... there were 5 different dancers... each doing basically a full routine of 10-15 minutes each. The band Arabesque was great and there was also a little free time to get up and dance ourselves...

I was also able to work in a lesson with Ashley Lopez at Datura... she had been at Tribal Fest in San Francisco and made the effort to get back which was much appreciated...

Portland seeems to be a great place for bellydance and I'm jealous of all the dancers in that area.... You've got a wonderful thing happening there...
