The Austin Belly Dance Convention

The Austin Belly Dance Convention brings together dancers, musicians, vendors, and audiences from all over the world to Austin in order to celebrate the art of Middle Eastern dance. The ABDC’s 28 workshops and presentations offer a wide variety of topics and styles that will satisfy any novice and professional’s interest in dance, music, and costuming.

Enjoy two spectacular evening performances include, Friday evening's "Keep Austin Shimming" Gala and Saturday evening's "Austin Raqs" Gala, featuring world renowned performers, as well as Austin’s own internationally known dancers. Stay Friday evening and enjoy a visually stunning film on the history Belly Dance costumes.

Do not miss the FREE entry into shopping with local and traveling vendors and performances during the ABDC Showcase on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Featuring international stars Zahra Zuhair (CA) and April Rose (TX) and guests artists Amara (TX & Sydney), Anaheed (CA), Aslahan (MA), Bahaia (TX), Charlie Lockwood (TX), Draconis (TX), Jenza (CA), Joharah (Ontario), Lauren Checchio (TX), Michelle Sorensen (UT), Samir (TX), Stacey Lizette (TX), Z-Helene (TX), and Zymirrah (TX).

Workshops are Friday 1:00-5:30pm, Saturday 8:30am-5:30pm, and Sunday 8:30am-3:00pm. Workshops pricing varies from $25-$80.

Friday and Saturday evening gala shows at 7:00pm are $15. The ABDC Showcases Saturday (1:30-5:30pm) and Sunday afternoon (1:00-3:00pm) are free. Two Live Music Shows feature Badrawn (Sat. night) and Atlas Maior (Sat. afternoon).

Entry to vendors during convention hours. Free entry Friday 12:00-5:00pm, Saturday 1:00pm-5:00pm, and Sunday 1:00am-3:00pm.

Film showing, Jenza presents "Historical Belly Dance Costume Fashion Show," on Friday at 9:30pm is free.
