    Big Grin For achilles007

Hi, achilles007! I'm posting this in the Videos section, even though my topic is actually music related (I didn't want to bump out the poster who is asking MizzNaaa about a certain piece of music she's inquiring about). It was mentioned more than once that the music in bellydance is so important that without it, all you have are a bunch of movements. I've started this thread to share with you some of my favorite pieces of Arabic music, ranging from classical to pop. I so hope that you find something you love!

rhe first video I'm posting is a live performance of Bitswannes Beek. This is my favorite piece of classical Egyptian music. Originally sung by the late Warda, it's a hauntingly beautiful song about longing to be with a lover who is far away. The music is so touching, it makes me cry, even though I don't speak the language:

Here's another favorite of mine, "Zeina," as performed by Samia Gamal, lovely dancer from the Golden age of Egyptian Bellydance:

Again, here is Zeina, covered by the musical group, Petrol Bomb Samosa, and performed by a Tribal Fusion dancer (I thought you would love this one!).

I think I broke the forum last night, because I couldn't get back on after my last post. Hopefully my copy/paste will still work. The next song I'll post is Omda's "La La." I don't think it's possible to listen to this song without at least moving!
