I am not quite sure I remember it correct, but a Jordanian friend said the lyrics of this on were rather silly and it had "let'ss dance" in it at least once. Hopefully someone knows more

This has got to be the dumbest song on earth. The Arabic is so basic that I can even understand it

Seriously this song isn't even a belly dance song...its silly Arabic hip-hop, a pale imitation of the real thing we get here (or in most countries).

well of course even i can recognise that it's pop and not real dance music, but it something that the kids can relate to and it's easy enough for them.
i just had to make sure that the lyrics were appropriate for kids.

i certainly won't be dancing to it any time soon!

Maybe it differs from dialect to dialect, but from the Egyptian I know, "enbisto kelna ensaan" is more like "be happy everybody (kelna ensaan =all people)". And I think "za3lan" is more "sad" than "mad".

"Nenzel 3ala ba7r el shoo2" does NOT mean "what", but something like "we go down/ descend to a sea of tenderness".

Janaki, I`m not trying to rip your lyrics apart or anything, I`m just a language geek

thanks for your input dheisha, i think the "what" was just that she couldn't figure out what it meant though.
:D

Thank You!

Hello Mya, thank you for asking for a translation for Aiwa.
Hello Janaki, thank you for the translation.

A little while ago I searched the internet for a translation for this song, but couldn't find one. Thanks to you two I now have one.

Silly or not, for western ears unfamiliar to oriental tunes, this little song is very catchy.

This song is not oriental at all...it's Arabic lyrics to hip-hop music. I would never use this song to teach belly dance as there is nothing oriental about it.

this may be true mark but sometimes for less experienced people you need to start with something they are more familiar with and then phase in the real music that they ought to be dancing to.
our kids for instance would be able to dance to this song. the hip hop music is simple and they use arabic lyrics. the kids then can follow simple steps to the music and at the same time get used to something that IS found in true oriental dance music- the arabic language.
as they progress and grow, so to will the music they use! we certainly know that this music is inappropriate for professional dancing, but i wouldn't entirely discount its value.

that's just my 2 cents though!
