Bellydancing references in current music

I myself really hate the Holly Valance "Kiss Kiss" version of Simarik but there is also a fun Spanish version of it by Spanish Hakim (who is different guy than Egyptian Hakim) - the name of this version is "La muchacha Turca" (Turkish girl)

I gotta agree with you here. I've always found this version to be quite yucky. But I'd love to hear the version in spanish.... if you know of a site where they have it, please let me know!

I have that "la muchacha turca" on combilation album named "Indestructible Arabian Beats" - maybe some clip can be found with album name as that CD should be quite widely available at least in Europe... it can be found also at his album "Entre dos orillas" but I guess that can be harder to find

I have no idea (remember I didn't even notice them in the first place)
I think they're just "good dancers" and not specifically "bellydancers", but I'm not sure.

If you look at the Holly Valance video, she does actually get herself in buff! Lol- I wasn't sure but looking at it, you can she is.

sniperhun65 - She was asked the same thing by hosts on a Japanese music variety show that I saw back in late 2002 or early 2003. She actually had a flesh-colored bikini on and the footage was digitally altered to make it look like she was very naked.

Don't know if they really know what they're talking about, but it sounds like that could be a truthful explanation.....

After watching the video though, that looks awfully REAL to me ;-)

Kiss Kiss was really big over here, I loved it too. But she does get nekid at one point. Could've been a body suit though.

I completely agree! The whole time I was watching the video I couldn't figure out what purpose there was in that....

Maybe it was just so everyone would say, "Hey, she's naked!" and more people would want to watch it to see. Still weird in my opinion....
