Remove things from new posts?

Hi

Please could someone tell me if there is a way to remove items from your new posts without actually reading them? So I suppose like on email being able to mark things as read.

When you are in any forum index page, let's say the Performance forum index page for example, you can click on "forum tools" and choose mark this forum read.
