Help!Teaching my first class

If you ask beginners to improv, your class looks at you like this:

ha ha! Yes, when I improv, it doesn't always come out as bellydance. I think choreography or "follow the bouncing butt" sessions are much more helpful than "improv time" for baby beginners. How can we perform the dance, if we don't even understand it yet?
