I do not feel entitled to do anything with a choreography I learned off a video, class or workshop.

We teach a set choreography for each level of classes our students take. These choerographies are open to our students to perform. However the ones for our troupe are not. Actually all of our choerographies, student and troupe, are copyrighted under Canadian law. If someone took our dances and used them entirely or used blatant combinations in it then they could be taken to court.

I would never ever dance or use someone else's choreography without first getting permission from them. Even then they would receive credit for creating it.

As my instructor told me it is far easier to ask permission first then to have to say your sorry numerous times after being caught.
