@Mariles, I'm really sorry I have no clue what the song is called. It's kinda difficult to pinpoint names and origins of music only.

@nejnyyangel, the first song is called "Eishlak Youmeen" by Hamada Helal, here's a link : LINK

@Fadua, the song is Shik Shak Shok like the title of the video says. However this version is music only as opposed to the usual music and lyrics. I have no clue where you can get it as music only though sorry!

The Original song I think was by someone called Hassan Abu El Seoud, it's really old song, has been around since the 60s or so, so yeah there are a lot of different versions of it now and stuff

Shaabi (mahraganat?)

Hello MizzNaaa!

I've moved my old question to a separate thread as it seemed more suitable, but did want to ask you about a lot of the shaabi I have been hearing over the last couple of years.

I keep seeing dancers performing to Oka w Ortega, especially Haty Bosa Ya Bet. I really like this type of music but I've always been told to be careful dancing to this type of shaabi as it can be nsfw. For example, I love the sound of this remix of the song What a Bam Bam but I have no idea of what the lyrics mean so it could actually be highly offensive and awful.

Could you recommend songs in this type of shaabi that would be okay to dance to?

Hi , I need some suggestions for songs that would be great with Isis wings, I have a babyshower coming up, and the only thing they really want me to do is use My LED wings....I have lots of songs that I've used in the past but they are very slow, since they want me to dance during dinner, I was thinking of making my entrance with the wings, just not sure what would be a good song, any suggestions?

I've been absent from the forums for years, sorry I only just saw this too years too late. However, the song is by Farid el Atrash, it's not however Yabo Dehka Genan, it's called "Manheremsh el Omr Mennak"

Good to see you guys too! I've missed you all. For some reason I couldn't find the URL to the forums for a while, and thought it closed down. it wasn't until I got a happy birthday email from here that I realized you guys are still up and active :D

It's slow but we're doing our best. The general consensus is that the forum has been impacted by FB and perhaps a cyclical downswing in the popularity of genuine belly dance (not to be confused with fusion and other offshoots). It's so slow that I keep expecting Salome to close it down or sell it but so far, we're still here.
