I don't want to be judgmental but she's very sleazy and only famous for, erm, extracurricular activities. Whether those activities are rumors because of her association with El Leil Casino and her being a bellydancer or them being true, I have no clue but yeah...don't expect high-quality video clips from her xD

El Leil was destroyed in the January 2011 violence, wasn't it? Have they rebuilt, or is it still out of business?

Speaking of Al Haram Street, any word on what Lucy is doing now that Parisiana no longer exists?

It wasn't destroyed, it was open after the 2011 revolution, I believe. But it's closed now, not sure of the reasons.

it was looted for 1.5 Million Egyptian pounds worth of appliances, then it was closed because there weren't enough people and apparently they were losing a lot of money. I don't know if it opened again or not. As for Lucy, I have no clue. I'm not well versed about the situation with the bellydancers here really or where they work.

Hi, I'm new to the forum and I had posted a new thread regarding my song situation, but then I came across this thread and figured it would be better if I posted it here (as soon as I figure out how to delete a thread, I will delete the one I made). So the thing is:
I was wondering if anyone could help me find the song Habibi Ya Einy, but the version from the CD Belly Dancing with Amira Mor. I have searched everywhere! It's not on iTunes, it's sold out on Amazon (USA sites). Anywhere else does not ship to Puerto Rico (where I live). So I was wondering if anyone had a download link to it, or even if someone has the CD and would be willing to send that song to me via email or any other way. I would be grateful forever! I am in love with the song. Thank you. :)

I would love to help Shanazel but I'm not entirely familiar with Dabke musicians. I'd imagine the best way to get a song within that time limit, is to find one you'd like and pick a good time to cut it and end it short. I've seen some dancers do that with longer tabla music. Still I'll try to ask around and let you know if I could come up with something.

your best bet might be finding it on youtube maybe? I have only heard that version once in a youtube video. Otherwise, I just listen to (and honestly prefer) the original version.

Thanks, Mizzy. I've picked up a few songs that I like over the weekend that are of the right length- hard to find, though. I have often shortened songs but the equipment we use to do it isn't working right now, thus the request.

No need to delete your original thread, it's totally appropriate. This thread is more for questions on song translations, or song recommendations. :)

Hello Belly Dancer Experts/Fans,
I have been trying to figure out what the background music to this video is! I've used Shazam and other song detecting apps but without luck. If you happen to know what this song is called or know where I can search for similar kind of music to this one, I would really appreciate your info! Thanks!

MizzNaa, do you happen to know the name of the Khaleegy song in this youtube clip? And maybe the name of the artist who made it famous?

I realize that most Egyptians don't listen to a lot of Khaleegy music, but I really like this song, so I thought I'd go ahead and ask!

I'm extremely sorry for such a late reply, I was absent from teh forum due to college for the past few months. Erm, if you don't mind linking me again, what khaleegy music?

The tune sounds like something that would be found in a Samira Said song, for some reason. I'm not sure what the name of that piece is or who it is who made it, but if I come across anything I'll definitely let you know.

Hi! I hope everyone is doing well.
I just wanted to ask for some examples of oriental pop songs. I need it for a competition but I'm not really sure what songs to consider. Are Nancy Ajram songs oriental pop? If you know instrumental songs, that would be great too. Thank you so much!

Also, does anyone know the name of this song?

Bousi bousi is, I think its name, or maybe Habibi Ara. I found it by typing "nancy ajram habibi" into the search engine - since if I were a betting woman I'd have said that was Nancy Ajram singing - and clicking on "nancy ajram habibi arab boussi boussi" which seemed a likely match. It was.

ETA it might actually be called Ahwnoss. In any case, here are the lyrics.

I actually just stumbled into one of Nancy's videos on youtube entitled "Aah W Noss" and it was the song in the video. :D
Thanks for your reply.
