GAHH! Need advice on Galabeya

I just got my gift from my brother today and it's a beautiful black and purple galabeya that he got in Iraq! It fits great and is just stunning...however...the neck hole is pretty small. I can't fit my head through it! And I'm kind of upset. I really love it and it's perfect length and fits fine everywhere else! Is there anyway I can fix it? The purple decor go from the very bottom all the way to the neck line and on the sleeves and I'm afraid to cut it...

help??

Is there a seam at shoulder or middle back that you could loosen a bit?

Maybe you could do a slit in front? Pictures would definitely make it easier to give suggestion. Plus, we are curious to see a cute galabeya
