Christmas films

Dear Sara,
My two favorites are the original "Miracle on 34th Street" with Maureen O'Hara, and "Scrooge". I think it is the 1938 version.
Regards,
A'isha

I'm not much on movies, but I do re-read A Little Princess by Frances Hodge Burnett this time of year. We also have a tradition of reading Dylan Thomas's A Child's Christmas in Wales on Christmas Eve in the light of the midwinter candles. Does that count?

Child's Chrtistmas, etc

Dear Shanazel,
The Public Broadcasting Station here used to have "A child's Christmas in Wales" every Christmas. I have not seen it in years, but it was wonderful!

A'isha

The 1951 version of "A Christmas Carol" with Alastair Sim. I have it on dvd and watch it repeatedly in Nov & Dec every year.

I also enjoy "Eloise At Christmas Time." I love her energy.

Grandbaby likes "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and "Polar Express"

A'isha, I have a treasured recording of Dylan Thomas reading A Child's Christmas in Wales. It is on cassette tape and I hope my husband will soon put it onto CD to give it a bit longer life.

Merry Christmas to you all, by the way.

Yes...I love the Grinch who stole Christmas...The Jim Carey version is hilarious. I also like the Polar Express. Home Alone is always fun. Chevy Chase's Christmas Vacation is a hoot. I also like watching the Sound of Music...That is my favorite all time movie.

My favourite is just plain silly, The Hebrew Hammer... This time of the year I also become a major geek and watch the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy (extended edition).

This is not much of a holiday movie, but last night on tv Jim Cary's movie, God almighty was on. It was fun to watch. Also, another favorite is the Nicholas Cage movie where he is a big wall street guy, then he wakes up to find himself with his old girlfriend living an average life...Ohhh I think the name is the Family Man?
