Apparently Yame is also an inmate of a law firm; wonder if she agrees about the nature of hell. Heaven knows some attorneys can be the very devil to work for.

I'm retired, by the way, so there is no truth to the idea that hell is inescapble. ;)

It's usually their first class in law school - How To Be The Devil 101.

Well, it started out with a post made with spam and a subject that has been discussed at some length elsewhere. ;)

All threads needn't reach heights of intellectual brilliance; this one has been fun and wide-ranging.

On with the show.

I tried to change the title to reflect the content of the thread. If anyone has a better idea then you are welcome to suggest it. :)

Besides, no one is being forced to either read or participate in this thread. There are other threads available for everyone's enjoyment.

But this thread is available for everyone's enjoyment already:lol:
Go be serious in some other thread ;)

meanderings about hell

I thought hell was being stuck in an elevator with elevator music and an 'expert on everything' giving a monologue on the subject of his/her expertise.

meanderings about hell

I don't know, could you at least BD to the elevator music? ;)

Okay but it has to be The Streets of Cairo badly played on a kazoo, can't have decent BD music or it wouldn't be hell.:D OOPS misread reply and no you couldn't said expert is a very large expert so no room

Being stuck for 45 minutes in an airplane on the landingstrip, waiting for the ok to go to the gate with elevator-music-style Bryan Adams covers played on panflute? Same 4 songs over and over again?

Happened to me. I lived to tell, but was scarred for life...

And this is where my disagreeing comes into play. I am a Christian, I’m not talking a wishy-washy, I just use the name as a niche Christian, I’m pretty devote. I believe what the bible has to say, especially about the parts where it says God was praised with Dance. And back during the time when this would have been written folkloric dances such as the beginning of belly dance, stomping and others would have been used. There is nothing wrong with using your body to praise God, in fact the bible even states that the best way to praise the lord, when you’re married, is to have children (a.k.a have sex). So yes I belly dance, not to spite my lord and not to show off my body to men, but to praise him for giving me a body in which to dance. To most I would be considered liberal but I follow the bible and my heart. I feel no guilt none when speaking of my faith and none when dancing I feel only love and passion.

That's a good philosophy. You obviously were not raised by sterner members of of the Southern Baptist Conference or strict Nazarenes. ;)

Yes, that is a good philosophy, but what exactly are you disagreeing with?

I personally have decided life is too short for complying with religion and so understand a lot of it is other people's opinions which are not mine. And no, I am not an unbeliever, it is just I seek my god myself and don't have any need for intermediaries or their interpretation, a spiritual vagrant and that suits me. Dance, it is natural to dance therefore dance is natural to humans and so we may dance, simple as that, as to what god wants, well we are supposed to be made in gods own image and so if we dance then so does god and those that don't, they don't know what they are missing.
