The contest is open for all oriental dancers - amateur dancers, professional dancers and students.
The winner will recive a travel voucher with a value of NOK 2000, and free entrance to all workshops at the Ahlan Wa Sahlan Festival in Cairo in june 2007, a dancers metropolitan! This is an opportunity to take classes with many of Egypt´s most esteemed teachers absolutely free!
The winner must pay for her own room and board, which we will be happy to help organize.
Prices for the 1st and 2nd runner up, 1st runner up gets first choice:
Two private lessons with instructor ........... (ikke avklart)
AND
A free 30 minute treatment of your choice by Bjørnøy´s Fysioterapi. Treat your sore muscles with a deep massage or acupuncture, or treat yourself to half an hour of delightful oil massage! Value: NOK 250. Read more about Bjørnøy`s Fysioterapi here.

The number of contestants are limited to ten solo performers and each will perform a choreography of no more than four minutes.
Category: Oriental (music with themes such as drumsolo, saidi etc in the music piece is accepted. Pure saidi, khaleegy, melaya etc are not within the category)
Length of material: maximum four minutes
Participation fee: NOK 200 (pluss entrance for the Gala Show NOK 260, total NOK 460)

Helene Skaugen, Norway - professional dancer and choreographer and organizer of Oslo Oriental Dance Festival
Lena Helt, Sweden - professional dancer and choreographer
Hilde Lund, Norway - professional dancer and choreographer
DaVid, Norway/USA - professional dancer and choreographer
All contestants must send the music and a picture to Oslo Oriental Dance Festival v/Helene Skaugen, Ospelia 29B, 1481 Hagan, Norway.
The total fee of NOK 460, which includes the entrance fee for the Friday Night Gala Show, must be paid to account nr 7058.05.99522.
