In my eyes they aren't really the dimensions and placement of a functional stocking garter, so they appear more to me as leg lassos. I have a feeling the leg lasso trend wont last.

Leg lassos hahaha, love it, that's what they are. To quote Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes: "I just love finding new places to wear diamonds". It's still silly though. And not for the less-than-lovely of knee/thigh, so I am out.

The spiral nipple bra I find very reminiscent of Princess Banu's snake cage bra, which you get a good look at about 45 seconds into this clip. A real classic for those not shy about displaying almost all of the boobage.

Theda Bara called, she wants her bra back. Her version would make for some hilarious floor work though, as the snakes slowly head for your armpits...
Also I found this while looking for the snake bra pic. It's not strictly speaking a belly dance costume but deserves a mention for an early example of the sparkly crotch star.

On the subject of which, I just saw a book on eBay called "Sequins+hot glue gun = belly Dance Costumes". I think there ought to be a little more to it than that, but theoretically this could be a thing. If I didn't have useful stuff to do...
