I believe that I have interpreted his post correctly...he explained himself eventually. and I disagree with his approach.
in addition he has decided to say that i have taken a 'side' when in fact all i am doing is pointing out that his approach was misguided. I felt the need to do this, buy actually bringing examples of how this might well apply to his own culture to illustrate the point.

No actually your first post did not ask for an explanation at all as far as i can see. That came much later on.

Yes...the second post was after the shock of reading the thread the first time..i had to step away from the thread and go back so insulted I was even and didn't want to make a knee jerk outburst...and hence my second explanation and subsequent posts...

it was much later on, because as you would expect, a thread like this would garner many responses..

I consider my second post in this thread..really the first one.

I read Dipali's eventual explanation, and still i don't think he himself even understood where i was coming from although he claimed that eventually...I'd rather not go into his own accusations about what my intentions were since it seems comprehension was seriously lacking in the first place given the first post.

I don't think so, I don't think Aisha is fluent in Arabic. She might be, but my impression was that she speaks a little Arabic, but mostly talks to her friends in English.

Someone please be kind enough to correct me if I am wrong. This is only my general impression, and I've often jumped to the wrong conclusion before.:redface:

Present is the big jolly guy - Past is the girl (with the lovely floaty veil effect in the Muppet version). Future is a hoody with scary bony pointing finger.

I was merely making comparisons. I did put a winky smilie at the end, to indicate that I was teasing more than being serious but this has been overlooked. Just a misunderstanding, I'm sure. I may be sarky at times, and sharp tongued also, but I would never tell anyone on here that I despised them.

For someone who barely knows me and has only just joined this board, Awasef doth rather protest too much...

You're right, Marley had the chains. Future doesn't speak IIRC. But I thought for sure Past was a big jolly guy!

Edit: you're right, Wiki says Past is indeterminate, and Present is the big jolly guy.

I love that book and the old movie version. Ghost of xmas to come scared me to death as a kid. It was the hood that did it...

Out of courtesy to A'isha since she's not here, nor have any thing to do with this thread she should be left out of it .. if someone still can't get over it and wish to backstabbing her in her absence ... then It's the moderator time to jump in!!!

Where is one when you need one!!

I think that particular question merits a thread all to itself. I can tell you that from having lived in several different countries, I've seldom heard an American being called "Americano" but rather "Gringo" This word is usually preceded by a not so very favorable adjective, even from people who've never met a gringo in person. So, while it would be nice to imagine that people around the world conjure up images of pleasant wholesome storybook characters when they think of Americans, it's it's not visions of the A-team or of Nancy Drew or the Bobsey Twins that most people in other countries have when they think of them. It's a much more negative image unfortunately. And that perception doesn't seem to change any as they grow up. It actually becomes worse.

Your absolutely right, Masrawy, as Aisha is no longer on the board she is not relevant any more...so I stand corrected.
