What's Your Favorite Style and Why?

In that case…. I am so glad I didn’t try! I have such bad knees. I don’t know if it’s from belly dance or if it would naturally have happened (I have Ehlers-Danlos)

I love watching flamenco, but I never thought I could learn it, it looks so hard! The ruffle skirts looks so danceable!

At a belly dance gala! So expensive and it wasn’t that great, they had maybe one or two well known dancers (can’t remember who) and the rest was was filled with wannabes

Bumped into this one in my Facebook memories, I took this photo at a party in Europe. Look closely and you can see the odd gingerbread men hanging around the belt. Most the the costumes at that party were not so very nice, but this one was just super weird

That last one! The skirt is a crotch-waterfall! That shop has so many unfortunate designs but they must be selling, they have been around for so long!

She’s the dancer I described? the video was from a TV show? Shes still dancing? Hope so. There was also a dancer who could let a man stand on her stomach, that was scary! My belly muscles are the strongest ones I have but I would never dare to risk that party trick!

Thats a gimmick, like rolling coins over a belly. There was someone could was able to do that with opposite directions at the same time, long ago, maybe in the ‘70s? Could be famous? American. But very impressive way more than peck muscle movements.

Finally we have a new one to add after many many years: a floofmare. A costume so fluffy with too much fabric that it turns into a nightmare of fluffy/floof

Where was it, not under costumes I think? I will have a look. Floofmare, so good! ‘"Costume, Tattoo, or Skin Condition?’ I vaguely remember the leg coverings like that but not in detail, was it very thinly decorated, so you couldn’t see what pattern it actually was?

Thought Provoking Belly Dance Costumes: the good, the bad and the hideous

Came across this for sale, all those ruffles, so much. But I find the supposed ‘skin toned’ (depends on who wears it) pieces so hideous. Why can’t that be purple too? Those types of supposed skin tone would be so hard to match, not many people would have that exact colour.
