Our weather doesn't move in until this evening. In the meantime, switching the contents of our home around and trying to make it all work. Majority of our home is in chaos. Reminding myself, it will get worse before it gets better. But it will get better. Stay safe everyone.

Home again. As usual, it looked like someone drew a "There Be Bad Weather" line just south of Cheyenne, and from there north to about Glendo required concentrated concentration and lowered speeds, though I've driven much, much, MUCH worse.

At home: several inches of snow on the ground and 10 degrees F. Add the wind chill, and down it comes to a "real feel" of -1.

We have cute, light, snowflakes happening. They're there and then they're gone.

Temperature has risen to 6 degrees with enough of a breeze to take the edge off the heat. ;) I got off at 1:00, went to the library, came home to a fire in the woodstove, and my husband fixing supper. I am a happy camper at this moment.

We had a big storm on February 2, and I had to drive my dog to a vet oral surgeon 26 miles away. It was terrible. I would've cancelled but it took me three months to get this appointment, plus I had been putting it off six months prior due to my own injuries last summer and my other dog's not-too-easy passing, so I had to go. It was so bad, you couldn't see the lane markers, so you just followed the vehicle in front of you and prayed the whole way. On the way home, the snow "took a break" and it was easier driving. When I got home, I found my neighbor shoveled most of the snow at my house. If he wasn't already married, I would've proposed!

I keep having dreams that it's spring - then I wake up to the cold and ice. I'm so done with this shite.

You have my complete sympathy and empathy about being over winter. We get most of our good water-making snow in March. It melts fairly quickly, unlike the hard, brittle, dry stuff we get in the winter.

Did your dog do well following the oral surgery? A month ago my Vallhund got her teeth cleaned; she's an older girl at 12 and I had some concern about the anesthesia, but when my beloved vet says something is necessary, I believe him. We have our two dogs and my daughter's two right now. I'll transport the latter to Texas next month; going to feel lonesome without them after having one or both around for six months. The puppy is especially going to miss them, but he's beginning to calm down a little. That's good: at 8 months old and approximately 85 pounds, he makes quite a commotion when romping. Vet figures he'll top out around 100 pounds, twice what any of the other dogs weigh.

Oooh, that's a big dog but so loving too! Funny how you get used to their company. Dental cleanings really are important as they are with people - keeps sepsis away, although when I was a child, people never cleaned their dogs' teeth, and my childhood dog lived to fifteen years old with no problems. Just like some people who never get a cavity! She seems to be doing fine - the first day, she was acting like she was on crack - a combination of the morphine for pain and residual effects of the anesthesia, but she calmed down the next day. I'm supposed to take her back on 2/16, and again, they're predicting snow! I just hope it isn't on the same scale as 2/2!!

Thanks for asking - we are getting a forty plus day this week, and I will be so happy to see some of this ice melt before the next onslaught.

52 degrees F and 15-20 mph wind. I'm trying to talk myself into taking the dogs for a walk along the river, but I'm more inclined to take a nap. It has been a long, intense several months, and I am very happy sitting here in my favorite chair working on the computer with occasional dips into the forums.

I don't wanna go to work most days but it's the worst when the precipitation of any kind is in progress during the rush times. And the ice this year here has been everlasting.

Well, it’s snowing. A lot. Anyone else caught in the latest cold front?

Not you Zorba. We already know you live in paradise. ;)

I am. We've had several days of negative double digit temperatures with snow and wind that has dropped the wind chill to -35. It's a relatively balmy -1 right now with only a little wind movement. What are things like on the fringes of the Mojave?

Not as bad as Shanazel, but it's February, so we are still getting below freezing and, of course, pesky snowstorms, usually right around rush hour/

Snow, woke up to a light dusting of snow. (And ducks arguing over pond territory. Feathers flying everywhere. Too early in the morning for this nonsense.)

Three inches of powdery snow here. I may shovel it over the weekend although it's supposed to get into the 40s by Monday, but even still, the sun will probably melt much of it. I can't wait to say goodbye to February and to not let the door hit him/her on the a$$ when it leaves.

What a beautiful image, Suzanne!

It has been snowing steadily the past week around here, and we've got quite a lot of snow now. Temperatures pivoting around the freezing point. Some of the snow meltet and turned to ice during the night, but still plenty snow left.

We have 28 degrees right now with a promise for temps above freezing later on today. This stretch of sub-zero F temps is unusual for this time of year. Guess I'd better get it in gear and get out to my son's place before the snow melts and turns the last 2 miles of his driveway into a muddy mess. He's loaning me antlers, horns, and skulls for a program I'm giving Thursday night.
