Eye make up in general

I know I go on about eye's alot, lol, but I was wondering how you apply false eye lashes? I've tried so hard put I give up after a while.

Also I was wondering how I would apply eye liner to suit my eyes cause I'm not too good at that either. I look really pale there but I'm quite yellowy/syruppy.

What kind of eye make up do you like to wear? And any tips for nice smouldery eyes. I try quite hard and it dunt work out

I love looking at other people's eye make up. You see some really wonderful stuff about. Especially at college. I always wonder how dancers get their eyes to look Arabicy too...

Well Cheers

For everyday wear, I stick to a gold/brown eyeliner and brown/black mascara.

For performances, I had absolutely no idea how to do the smoky, smouldery eye makeup that I wanted, so did some research online and found LimeCrime.net I used/modified the Black Forest tutorial to get the look that I wanted (and matched my costume). :)

I used to use liquid black liner and false eylashes and it takes a steady hand. I used to use a toothpick to help get the false eyelashes in place.

For daytime I use browns. I feel it makes my blue eyes really stand out. I've never been able to do a proper smoky eye. I always feel it looks more like dark circles than sultry shadows on me. :( I like blues and sparkly stuff for performance.

Miss Shimmy: Another lovely pic. ;)

well I don't know anything as far as performances but I think your eyes are very pretty. And I hate false lashes...I tried them myself and never got them to work...grrr.

I often wear fake eyelashes for performance. I put my liner on first. Apply the glue to the lash and the trick is you have to let the glue get tacky before you try to apply the lashes. Wait maybe 30 or 45 seconds or so, just let it set up a little bit. I don't try to put the entire lash on perfectly in one swoop. I start with the corner because I found if you set it up good it lays down right where you want it to. I start at the corner of my inner eyelid and lay it down right where my real lashes and my eyelid are. I take a toothpick or other dainty tool and gently press down along the spine of the lash to make sure is sticks. Waiting for the glue to get tacky, a steady hand and practice...

Eye makeup

I'm dark eyed, and have also yellow-toned skin, and have had the best results with black eyeshadow. I use a small brush first to apply the shadow (dry, not wet, or it looks too heavy), just like you would with a pencil; then I sort of smudge it with a larger brush to get that smoky effect - I tend to get slap-happy when it comes to eye makeup, so this method's proved to be the best for me to get the look I want without getting carried away (too much - a girl's gotta have smoldery eyes  ). On special occasions, I like to use a little liquid eyeliner, then apply powder eyeshadow as usual.

Is that picture you Mis Shimmy. You are real beautiful. Just wanted to say that, hope you are not ofended.

I am a goth girl, though I dont use alot of make up, when I do I usualy use dark colors, dark purple, red, black and so on together whit black maskara, the idea is to have the eyes look mysterious and or scary and make my skin around them look more pale, but I am not very good at make up so I dont know if the effect I want is achived.

The best thing I ever did for my eye makeup was wander in to a M.A.C. store and had one of their makeup artists do my eyes. I told her I wanted a look and color palatte suitable for stage as well as real life. She explained every product, color, and brush to me as she went, and as she did each step on one eye, she had me repeat it on the other eye. I bought the makeup (a mostly neutral palatte) and 3 brushes and have loved it all ever since.

Having high quality eyeshadow base, high quality high pigment eye shadows, and quality brushes in the right variety make all the difference. Knowing how to apply and blending, blending, blending makes all the difference. I went home and without hesitation threw away all of my mayabelline, L'Oreal, and Revlon eye makeup.

If they have M.A.C. in England, even if you have to make a special trip to the big city, is worth it.

I had professional make up laid once, the man that did it was a most adorable man that was fun to talk whit, but he made me at age 16 look like a street whore of 30, witch was not what I was aiming for when I said dramatic.
