Keep getting logged out/timed out?

Hi,

This hasn't been a big issue at all, but I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem. I come to the forum and I log in, but then even when I'm active (i.e. typing a response or a post) if I'm writing anything longer than a small paragraph, when I hit 'post' it asks me to log in again. I also get logged out when I go to different sections of forums. So basically, anytime I'm on this forum I may have to log in and give my username and password about 3-4 times in one sitting.

It's not a big deal, It's just weird and I thought it might be worth mentioning.

This has always been a problem - the login timeout is set too short. Simply check the "remember me" checkbox when logging in, it turns this mis-feature off.

I'm wondering, why is there a time-out for inactivity at all? None of the other sites I visit use this feature any more.
