Looking for clip-on earrings for bellydancing

I would love to wear earrings for dancing but almost all earrings I see that are glittery-dangly-bellydancey are for pierced ears.

Does anybody know of an online seller of clip-on earings that might suit bellydancing? Clip-ons seem to have gone out of fashion where I live.

Looking specifically for earrings that would look sparkly and elegant with my Egyptian costume as well as something for ATS with a more tribal look.

Short of that I am wondering what other kinds of ear decorations there might be out there.

My children wear stick on ones, a bit like bindiis, but they are childish designs. A grown up version would be nice but very subtle - I'm after something bigger with dangle.

I have seen in a photograph a Tibetan version of earrings but it was actually the ornamental metal piece hanging from a cord that was draped over the head so that the ornaments hung at the earlobes. I'm not sure what these are called or how you would keep them put for dancing but the effect was the same as earrings and very pretty.

Hmmm difficult one, I haven't seen dangly clip ons that I can recall. I have seen on ebay the Thai tribal ones that actually hook over the ear, I don't think they were that dangly though

Couldn`t you take off the pin and just glue on a clip on? If there is alitle whole where the pin once was you can always put a little cristal on that spot. Thats the way my mom did it for years...

Clip-ons never come in the styles that I want for dancing, so I buy one dangly clip-on pair and one dangly regular pair that I like. I take the dangly parts off of both earrings. Then I take the dangly part from the stud base, and wire it onto the loop of the clip-on pair, using pliers and a jump ring. It costs more, but I get the earrings I want!

That said - those Karen over-the-ear-earrings Gia posted look awesome! I'm going to have to look into getting some of those!

Ask around at places that sell jewelry about having your pierced styles changed to clasp. I had a number of my mother's clip styles changed to pierced for very little money.

I have found tons of earrings at teen stores like Forever 21 & Claires that would be perfect for BD. I'm not sure what the equivallent is in Australia, but you can find many inexpensive treasures at teen stores. I agree with the others- just cut the post off the back and hot glue on clip-on backings. You can find the backings at any craft store.

If your looking for quality jewelry, they even have stuff that would be perfect at higher end department stores. With quality jewelry though, I would have a professional change the backing for you. I can't imagine it would cost too much, but it would be worth it for an expensive peice that you may keep for a long time.

Oops, just thought of something, dangly earrings often times don't have a post- they have a hook... hmmm...

I just looked at Forever 21 - they ship to Australia. Their stuff is so cheap, it might be worth the shipping cost. They have a huge selection of jewelry, a lot of which would work for BD (depending on you personal taste). And, they have a selection of dangly earrings that have posts you could turn into clips

The pics are earrings from Forever21 that could have clips added. They are between $3-$7- just to give you an idea.

They also gave me an idea, she could easily change peirced dangly earrings that have a hook by just detaching the hook and attaching a clip-on peice to the connecting ring.

I had a dance sister who was in a similar quandary. She finally, with much encouragement, got her ears pierced. She's MUCH happier now!
