Samasem in interesting costume

What do you ladies think about this costume, worn by Samasem? What is up with the glasses/ faceveil? Or the illusion of the 80´s style thong going almost up to her armpits? Im not sure what to think... Its schocking, and tacky, but still, a bit humourous. It´s a bit "Oooh no, she did´nt?!", and in some way, i kinda like that.

Extremely odd. Kind of shades of Dina, the g-string look. I don't like it at all, looks like her skirt is slipping down. I am just not interested in seeing lots of 'cheek'... too 'cheeky' for me;) and have never liked the flimsy face veil thing, to me that just looks silly, you wear a 'revealing' costume and put a flimsy piece of chiffon on your face:think: As for the glasses, If you can't see and can;'t wear contacts and some people can't due to the shape of the eyeball, they just slide off, then you don't have a choice, but with a face veil well looks kind of silly to me ... but I suppose each to their own.

I know that Samasem has very poor eye-sight and that she prefers to see the audience. Perhaps she was not able to wear contacts for this performance.
The thong-thing, Oh no no no, not great. Funny though because the dress looks nice from the front.

"Silly" is the right word for this whole outfit! I dont like it either, but still think its rather amusing. I often think Samasems costumes are gorgeous, and very tasteful. But this one, hmmmm... Odd, yes. And i´ve never liked the faceveil either, it looks like a piece of Halloween costume. And with the glasses it looks like she´s going for the secretery/lady of the harem look.

Yeah, im not saying anything about the glasses, but the glasses in combination with the veil. It´s funny when she turns around, almost like she means to schock her audience. :p

Is she doing some version of a melaya luf? I have seen dancers on occasion wear face veils for that, but not often. The movements with the fabric look like some of the common melaya luf moves with the twirling.

As for the thong look - not my thing. I find it distracting and not flattering for the dance itself.

maybe she just thought it was a clever way to hold the face veil up. And yes definitely Melaya lef.

That was a melaya alright, and I agree the dress looks quite nice from the front, but that thong.........!! Even bigger than Dina's......:shok:

This outfit is definitely TPBDC'thread worthy

Wow, you guys have great eye-sight, I can't see the glasses, maybe I should get glassess, hang on I do have them, I think it's time for an upgrade...

Veil over the face is definitely old school, there's old pictures of Cairene women wearing a netted face veil, usuall worn with the melaya, but a bigger and heavier version.

One the one hand she has such a great figure, who cares, she can get away with that costume, on the otherhand I have a strong dislike for g-strings so incorporating it into a costume is a very weird thing to do but I'm sure it gets people talking!

Blimey the thong's a bit of an eyeful.

I think jenc might be right - if she came on demure, bespectacled and modestly covered then had that underneath...

It looks like a thong costume to me! I couldn't get past that part - and yeah, it's like Britney in a bedlah (sort of).
