Dear members,

Our aim is to provide a platform for discussion for people involved in, or enthusiasts of, dances from the Near and Middle East. The rules need to be observed in order to participate here. Failure to adhere will result in infraction(s) that can lead from a 7 day to a permanent ban.

General Forum Usage Rules

Topics should relate in some way to dances from, or inspired by, the Near and Middle East. With the exception of the "Off Topic" forum, where non-dance related topics are acceptable. The “Off Topic” forum is for the use of genuine members. It is not a space for people unrelated to the forum theme to rant, advertise, spam, troll and such.

When participating in an existing topic, please keep your post on topic. (This will ensure the forums stay organized and useful for all. The more threads the better! So start new threads for topics you want to explore).

The Administrators and moderators will not delete your account, your thread or post, or another member's thread or post upon request.

Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.

If you are going to post in any language other then English on these forums, please also post an English Translation of your post.

A link in signature is granted to “Posting Members”, this is an automatic promotion a member receives after achieving a certain number of posts and days since joined.

Advertising, Spam and Solicitation

Multiple posting solely to place external links which advertise, sell, or promote… is not allowed.

Multiple posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed.

Spamming is not allowed on the forum via posts, emails, visitor messages, picture comments and/or the private messaging system.

Do not post threads designed to drive traffic to another site for the purpose of affiliate referral, sales, advertising, promotions etc.

Code of Conduct

While the forum does not censor opinion it does censor behavior. You can say whatever you wish but it must be said with civility. Attacking personal character of member(s) with negative language is not allowed. Negative language is defined as disparaging, hurtful, malicious, sneering, or spiteful remarks about the CHARACTER of another.

Trolling is not allowed. Members that post inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic message(s), with the primary intent of provoking other users into a negative emotional response or otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion will be banned.

Abuse is not allowed.
a. Cursing at another member.
b. Calling member(s) a name (dumb, stupid… on up to an expletive).
c. Derogatory slurs, in general or directed to member(s), in regards to sexual orientation.
d. Derogatory slurs, in general or directed to member(s), in regards to ethnicity. If you are unsure what constitutes a racial slur you may refer to wikipedia’s list

Dear members,

we've updated the rules, there are a few new ones in the mix so I encourage you to look them over. We also refined/added rules concerning spam but these are aimed at folks who join to... spam us. So if that's not you then no worries. You are as welcome as ever to use Market place and the events calendar and other forums as applicable to let the community know about your new website, upcoming show, costume for sale and so on.
