False- I'm too cheap to buy costumes. I did, however, make a very TPBDC once. Didn't have enough fabric for a full skirt so ended up showing a lot more leg in a more form-fitting skirt than I was used to. I felt positively undressed but now that skirt wouldn't even get a raised eyebrow. (Unless it was on me in which case it would get two raised eyebrows and a bone shattering scream )
