satin veil?

satin veil

Hi Ariella,i would not use a satin veil it is a bit heavy i feel ,and just is not so ,,floaty,,because of that it just drops to fast...Lydia

I wouldn't use a satin veil because veil work depends on catching the air to waft the thing around, and satin doesn't have the same hand as chiffon or light silk. I have, however, used a satin cape, and that was kind of cool. The cape was cut and stitched so it was circular, and you worked with it in a much different manner than a veil. It was very dramatic. Can't really tell you much more about it- I'm not an expert. It was just something a couple of friends and I played with for a while.

If you were using it in the American style of veil work I think satin would be disastrous. But if you were using it in the Egyptian style it might work, just using it briefly and basically as a back drop.
