Dear costume gods, please protect me from moths and from overzealous baggage handlers, that my costume arrives, intact, when I do. May I be protected from sweat-stains and hard patches of deodorant. May my make-up stay upon my face, and not run down it, nor smear on my costume as I ready myself. May the performance go ahead as scheduled with no dramas. Amen.
