Perhaps in all this, everything the complexities of it all it is worth bearing in mind that what we are dealing with be it religion be it whatever is politics and to understand what is going on , what motives are at work one needs to strip it all down to the absolute basics and see what they have and see if it is anything different than power struggles, the will of people to dominate others, which I understand is pretty primitive and can be succinctly phrased as 'top dog' in the pack that is human kind. But of top dog that wants to stay top dog, what is top dog likely to do to maintain his position, does divide and conquer come into the equation, does making examples of smaller and weaker possible opponents feature.
But look the world is in a financial mess, the so called Global economy is hanging on for dear life and this fact on how it is impacted people world wide tends to focus one's attention intently on the subject of money and money generation and exactly what is at work in our world where money is concerned and there I understand the poverty that Erik speaks of, the immigration and the unemployment is all down to money and someone somewhere is getting very wealthy on a lot of peoples misery and hardship, because you can bet your bottom dollar if you have one, that if poverty, unemployment and immigration was a money spinner, there wouldn't be much of it, but it is my guess that for a minority to be wealthy therefore there has to be a majority of people in poverty and with that my understanding of many of the wars our countries gets involved with, many of them are more to do with trade than anything else and trade on favourable terms.
It could be all this in fighting that goes on amongst us is by design, divide and conquer being exacted through all levels of society, everyone scrabbling over what they can get more than anyone else, basically dog eat dog. Surely we should have learned by now, we can be better than this ?
