I'm preparing to let everyone know about a new article on Shira.net that talks about Badia Masabni. As I was trying to decide which section to post it in, none of them seemed to fit. I'll probably post it in "styles" since that seems to fit best.
But it made me think it's interesting that we have sections for a lot of topics that are kind of peripheral to belly dance - costuming, buying & selling, teachers/students, male dancers - but not anything specifically tied to the very foundation of our dance, Middle Eastern dance history and culture.
Whatever you decide (whether to create a history/culture section or not) is ok, just thought I'd suggest it in case there are others who like the idea.
